The grandiose church of the Assumption located in Paradeisi.

In front of the temple there are newer buildings from the monastery operated there. The monastery founded by Irene Paleologos, daughter of Andronikos Paleologos in 1300 and operated until 1821.

Paradeisi was a major religious center and so the observant visitor will see many small Byzantine churches in the region, other preserved, and other ruins. Agia Kiriaki shortly before Paradeisi,Agios Efstratios and Agia Ekaterini higher to the mountain near to the road to Kato Kastania are some of these churches.
