Elika is the first village that one meets when visits Vatika built on the foothills of a mountain and overlooking the Laconian Gulf.

It owes its name probably to the beautiful nymph Eliki according to one version and the name of a settler from Alika of the Mani who settled in the region after the revolution of 1821, according to another version.

A village with a strong agricultural life but also with many natural beauties invites you to discover it and to visit the coastal settlement of Marathias, the beaches of Limnes and Platanistos. In the wider area, you will find the old towers of “Fonias” and “Koulentianos” parts of the system with notified with fires for incoming invaders and pirates raids from the sea.
